·    Did you know the Red Wolf is an endangered species?  It`s scientific name is Canes rufus.  Slender, Coutis   tonny red with some gray and back areas. Tail has a black tip it`s size is 4.5 feet and 77 lb. It is a pack animal because they mate and stay with pups and they are predators. It`s diet consists of rodents, deer, and other small mammals .It`s sleeping habits is sleep during the day and hunt at night. It lives in swamps, forest, wetland, bush lands. It`s natural habitat is forest, swamps and coasts and it`s population before it was endangered was 1,000,000 before the 1950s. It`s current population in 2007 was population 507. They are protected in the zoos, they mate the red wolf and then release them into the wild.
