Sand cat is an endangerd animal. The
scientific name of the animal is felis margarita. The sand cat was found in the
desert of Pakistan. The southern deserts stretch from the eastern
Caspian coast to the middle current of Syr Darya to the east and to the
foothills of the Central Asian mountains. It the size of an domestic cat and the smallest of wild
cats.
Sand cats
spend their time by themselves in the desert. They can also survive the hotness
of the sand. Sand cat is a predator. The sand cats are ominvor det consist of
rodents and other small mamoles, lizards, and insects.
Sand cats are only known to live in
sand places and also stormy palces. They are able to survive hotness in the
sand. The tempurture of the desert is above 225 decrease. They can survive that
too. They keep cool by hiding under the rocks or digging in the ground. The
only come out at night.
The sand cats live such a hard life.
The sand in the desert is too hot for the animal. Its too hot for people to go
and study about them. Its also too hard to keep track of them. Population is
not available. It is the only wild animal in the desert. Some of them are kept
in the zoos.
The sand cats do not have any
population available. The sand cat is not threatened. This animal is threatened
by hunting and collection for the pet trade. Some of the sand cats were killed
by humans. They protect themselves by hiding under rocks. That’s how they cool
down.
